Pembroke Medieval Regency Broadsword

William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke (1147-1219) is often referred to as the greatest medieval knight who rose to prominence for his bravery in tournaments and warfare. He served four kings and rose from obscurity to become a regent of England and one of the most powerful men in Europe. In 1170, Marshal became a guardian to Prince Henry, eldest son of King Henry II . The William the Marshal Medieval Regency Broadsword is constructed of polished steel with a round pommel. Because of the true hand-forged nature of these swords, no two are alike. The blade features a central ridge fuller running 3/4 way down the middle to balance and make the sword lighter. You can actually see the hammering on this blade which shows its real handmade authentication. The sword is classically styled with a cruciform hilt. The Hilt and Guard is made from the same material as the blade. The grip is wrapped with leather, hand stitched, and has forced grooves indented into the handle. Most of the weight is on the blade itself so that the sword can be wielded forcefully without undue wear and tear on the arm. The scabbard is leather covered with steel fittings. This is a perfect sword for re-enactor, cosplay or Medieval Festivals.
