The Battle of Tewkesbury, which took place on 4 May 1471, was one of the decisive battles of the Wars of the Roses. The battle was fought by the Yorkist army under Edward IV vs. Lancastrian forces led by the Duke of Somerset on behalf of Queen Margaret. Many of valiant knights carried blades just like this one but minus the sturdy polyurethane foam construction. This style of longsword was great for thrusting and slicing making it very popular during that time period. The handle features a medallion golden pommel that matches the curved sloping guard. This Medieval reproduction has a very strong 10mm inner core so that this blade can be used for mock battles, costumes, and light play. Complete your knightly armor with the Hand and A Half Medieval Tewkesbury Foam Sword before you head off into battle. Included is a FREE Case. This case is made very durable from a tough nylon construction with a hard inner lining which helps the sword stay in place. This case can hold a regular size Japanese Katana sword, wooden bokkens, Shinai bamboo swords, and foam and cosplay swords.
