The whole point of today’s Hallowe’en celebrations is to do all that you can to scare the living daylights out of somebody -- while still managing to make such a fright enjoyable for all involved.

One erstwhile fright-monger we know once dressed himself in old clothes, complete with artificial stuffing so as to look like a prop as opposed to a living person. He donned a skeleton mask that covered his exposed hair and skin, completing the look. Then, as a couple of teenage trick-or-treaters approached, he sat as still as possible in a chair.

The teens slowly got closer to him, eyeing the giant bowl of candy that seemed to be just sitting there on the lap of the “dummy.” Then, at the last second, our costumed wag extended the bowl in the direction of the now-trusting children, who immediately turned tail, screamed and ran. They later returned for their treats when the man removed his mask.
