The NBC program American Ninja Warrior brings people of all different walks of life together to compete against one another in ninja-themed competition. The latest installment of the show is no different. Among the competitors, there will be a man from Clear Lake, Texas and a PE teacher from Independence, Missouri.

Hannah Schmidt of KSHB 41 Kansas City looks at the PE teacher in a recent article titled “Independence PE teacher makes it on NBC's ‘American Ninja Warrior,' will compete in Kansas City.” Schmidt writes, “Dudek posted her tryout video on Dec. 29. In it, she shows her strength and ability to compete in challenges similar to some of the obstacles in the show. Dudek said the biggest challenge will be making sure she stays healthy the next few weeks while trying to train a little bit harder. And how is she going to prepare? ‘Crossfit workouts and getting into Chaos Course in Belton to train on specific obstacles,’ Dudek said.”

Meanwhile, in Clear Lake, Ryan Miller is working on his own preparation. Y.C. Orozco of ABC 13 Eyewitness News takes a look at this in a recent article titled “CLEAR LAKE MAN TO COMPETE AS AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR.” Orozco writes, “According to his mother, when he was six months old, he would climb out of his crib. Later on, he channeled that adventurous spirit through sports in school. Now he's set to take on his latest adventure. Miller, a graduate of Clear Lake High School and Clear Lake resident, recently received a call-back to compete in NBC and Esquire Network's American Ninja Warrior… American Ninja Warrior follows competitors throughout the country to qualify for the finals in their region for the chance to compete in Las Vegas. That competition consists of a series of grueling, four-stage obstacle courses based on Mt. Midoriyama in Japan and a chance to win $500,000.”
