LARPers are Smarter
6th Mar 2014
“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination” - Albert Einstein said it, and he of all people should know. The world of make-believe is a great place for kids to play, it is an even better place for feeding a growing mind. Scientific literature points to a close correlation between creativity and intelligence, both stimulating the same part of the brain - all the more reason to be proud of your little LARPer!

Through advanced imaging, the neuroscience community has been able to isolate the region of the brain that is active during creative processes. In the process, they have also found that while the frontal lobe fosters the imagination, it is also central to processes of long-term memory, planning, theory of mind, and possibly even navigation. In other words, an active imagination could make you smarter!
From the moment a child is born, every experience helps to mould his little brain. Every time a child plays, he is exercising his imagination, building the circuits in his brain that will in turn contribute to his intellectual strength. Kids are naturally curious and imaginative, so encourage them to play creatively! Reenacting and live-action playing are perfect for kids. Who knew you could make your kids smarter just by having fun with them?
A limitless imagination is one of the joys of childhood. Through the eyes of a kid, the ordinary always seems extraordinary; the world bursting with new and exciting adventures at every turn. For some kids, these fantastic worlds are inspired by books and movies. But most kids’ imaginations need very little to supplement their already wondrous minds.
Junior LARPers might be minimalists, but you know that more props mean more fun! Help your kids slay dragons and save princesses with kid friendly gear! Foam shields and foam swords are must-haves for play time. Fuel your child’s imagination and shape that growing mind!
