Not a Pro or a Movie Star? You Can Still Meaningfully Study Martial Arts

Fans of the upcoming “Action Jackson” movie can take comfort in knowing its star is serious about adding authenticity to his fight scenes. According to Eepsita Guha of the Times of India, “Action Jackson” star Ajay Devgn is going the extra mile for action scenes. Guha writes, “Besides practicing martial arts specially for the movie, the actor has also displayed his stellar swordsmanship. Turns out, it was Prabhudheva's idea to incorporate sword fighting instead of the typical action scenes so often seen in Bollywood… Of course, it was easier said than done. Not only did Ajay follow a strict diet to tone his physique, but also underwent intensive training. ‘In a scene like this, the posture and the technique have to be correct. So Ajay sir had to train accordingly. He used to even exercise on the set before shooting for the sequence. One day, in spite of being down with fever, he insisted on working out and then shot for the fight sequence,’ says Prabhudheva.”
You don’t have to be a movie star, however, to get quality martial arts training and equipment. At Armory Replicas, you can find a wide variety of martial arts training equipment.

Of course, before you get started, you need to figure out which style of martial arts is best for you. Doug Haskins of the Daily Herald helps shed some light for aspiring students of martial arts with an article titled “Which self defense training is right for you?” He writes, “I categorize martial arts styles by their focus and intensity. Some martial arts styles are marketed to children and families as an activity they can do together. These are rarely very intense and focus on a wholesome family activity. On the other end of the spectrum, is a purely fighting martial art that focuses on effectively injuring your opponent(s) and is very intense in the training with no rules in fighting. Injuries are common so make sure you are willing to accept the potential that your nose may accidentally be broken or eye blackened. The halfway point between these two extremes are sport martial arts that train intensely and train to injure but for points and are limited by rules.”
Once you’ve figured things out, then you can better enjoy and utilize the large selection of martial arts equipment at Armory Replicas. For example, mastering our Martial Arts Hanbo Short Staff can provide you with the means to easily overpower a sword-wielding opponent. It’s great for practice and training and when it strikes a hard ground surface, it produces an awesome cracking sound. And still, it feels perfectly smooth to the hand.
Whatever martial arts equipment or other replica armory needs you might have, your best bet is Armory Replicas!
