When it Comes to Renaissance Festivals, Your Costume Can’t Have Enough Detail

28th Nov 2014

One of the more fun events for children and adults alike is the Renaissance festival. They’re held all over the country, giving people the opportunity to engage with medieval culture. People put countless effort into their costumes, trying as hard as they can to capture the historical period. When it comes to finding the perfect replica armory for your Renaissance festival outfit, we’ve got you covered at Armory Replicas.

It’s especially important to be on your game in the more well-known and well-regarded festivals across the country. For those wondering where these places might be, the Travel Channel has compiled a list appropriately titled “The Best Renaissance Festivals in the US.” The Travel Channel’s list includes:

  • The Carolina Renaissance Festival in Huntersville, NC
  • The Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission, TX
  • The Maryland Renaissance Festival in Crownsville, MD
  • The New York Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo Park, NY
  • The Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, TX
  • The Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, WI
  • The Northern California Renaissance Faire in Hollister, CA
  • The Ohio Renaissance Festival in Harveysburg, OH
  • The Arizona Renaissance Festival near Apache Junction, AZ
  • The Minnesota Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN
  • King Richard’s Faire in Carver, MA
  • The Georgia Renaissance Festival in Fairburn, GA

Don’t think you can only find the most fun in these places, however. Elizabeth Regan of The Bulletin highlights the Connecticut Renaissance Faire in an article titled “Children Enchanted by Renaissance Faire.” Regan writes, “A large percentage of the attendees come through the gates in period costumes ranging from princes to peasants, from knights to pirates. The faire’s marketing director, Eric Tetreault, said the difficulty in distinguishing between paid actors and costumed visitors is one of the best parts of the experience. ‘You never know who works here and who doesn’t,’ he said – everyone is part of the show.”

Clearly, the competition for catching people’s eye is fierce at Renaissance festivals. One way to make yourself the talk of the festival is with a High Middle Ages Knightly Dagger from Armory Replicas. This factory sharp dagger features a highly attractive satin finish, a double-sided 5-inch stainless steel blade (that can be honed to an even finer edge), and a 2.5-inch fuller accentuated by a ridgeline down the middle. The pommel features a diamond shape on its face and rear. A pointed extension on the end of the pommel offers the possibility of a glass breaker with an opening for a lanyard or strap. The textured inserts on the handle provide a solid and secure grip. You’ll be sure to impress when you walk into the festival in your detailed costume and prized weapon.

No matter what replica armory needs you may have, you can’t go wrong with Armory Replicas!
